Specsavers Burnie are seeking an energetic Graduate Optometrist to join their friendly and vibrant team!

 The Company

The Store

Picture the scene- a local population of over 30,000 and a catchment of even more; a three year old store with two fully equipped consulting rooms, a large pre-testing room, six dispensing desks, office and standalone staff room / kitchen / staff bathrooms– not to mention some of the most up-to-date Nidek automated equipment, a Zeiss Visual Field Analyser and the DRS Digital Retinal Camera.
The store is located on Burnie’s main shopping district street and is close to local supermarkets, shops and boutiques. An easy five minute walk to the beach front and next door to a brand new cafe and coffee shop. Long term parking is available in a multi-storey car park located directly behind the back entrance of the store and there are two doctor’s surgeries and three pharmacies located within 100M of the store.
Burnie’s largest customer demographic is 45-60 years old. The store see’s a number of children and elderly patients and have several local medical centres that organise GP treatment management plans for patients with the practice. This includes management and monitoring of problems such as diabetes, OH issues and use of certain medications / treatments.

Specsavers Burnie are the only store within a 45km radius and have a data base of over 15,000 patients. They work closely with their local ophthalmologists and have the ability to co-share treatment plans and clinical management.


The Mentor

Dimitri studied and qualified as an Optometrist in 2007 at The New England College of Optometry (Boston,Massachusetts) and has been practising in Australia since 2013. Dimitri is passionate about mentoring and sharing his knowledge and will provide excellent support and guidance to a new Graduate.

Team culture:

The team is well rounded and work together wonderfully which is often commented on by happy customers. The team is currently made up of two store directors, two full time employee’s, one part time employee and four casuals. Excellent customer service and bedside manner are a must for any new individuals looking to join this team.
